Worship at Trinity Episcopal Church
Our Worship
Lay Readers/Lectors:
The licensed lay reader participates in the services by reading lessons and portions of the liturgy. Lay readers also conduct Daily office as directed by the Rector. Lectors are trained to read scripture lessons during worship but do not read the Daily offices.
Some of our lay readers are also Eucharistic Ministers. There are two types of Eucharistic Ministers. Type A administers the chalice during communion. Type B administers the chalice and also carries communion out to the sick and shut-ins.
Acolytes:
Both males and females serve as acolytes. This involves robed participation in worship service through lighting and extinguishing candles, carrying the processional cross and torches, handing the communion elements to the priests, and other duties.
Choir:
Our choir sings at our 10:00 AM service each Sunday. The songbooks currently being used are the 1982 Hymnal, Lift Every Voice and Sing, and Wonder, Love, and Praise. Currently the choir is being expanded; if interested, parishioners should speak to the Organist/Music Director.
Ushers:
The ushers, in addition to greeting people as they arrive for services, distribute bulletins, pass the collection plate, and generally help as needed before and after the service.
Altar Guild:
The altar guild prepares the altar for all services. Members cleanse and put in place communion vessels, brass, and hangings. They oversee the maintenance of an adequate supply of wine, wafers, candles, and linen. Members perform the above functions on a rotating basis.
Nursery:
Nursery services are provided in the special area of the upper parish hall during the 10:00 AM service.
If you or your children wish to participate in any of the above activities, please call the appropriate coordinator.
